Alain Valente wins the Trofeo Margutti in the KF2 category

14-year old Bernese Swiss Hutless karter Alain Valente won the prestigious Trofeo Margutti in the elite KF2 category this weekend. Racing at the 7 Laghi circuit near Pavia in Italy, Alain drove determinedly in all of the heats, putting up an impressive fight to relegate fellow Swiss Pascal Eberle to 2^nd and Russian Ivan Kostyukov to 3^rd place in an impressive run in the final. Frenchman Brandon Maisano, who won the Trofeo Margutti last year in the KF3 category, could only settle for 4^th place.
The only (Italo-)Swiss to have won the Trofeo Margutti so far was one Edoardo Mortara in 2005 (100FA). Swiss Hutless have previously claimed one victory back in 1998 with Italian karter Massimiliano Orsini in the 100FA category.
