JAMES HEDLEY TO DEBUT in FIA F3

FIA F3

James Hedley, 20 year old, from Poole, near Bournemouth, England, will take over the steering wheel of our FIA F3 racing machine no 19 for the prestigious Monaco event, as our regular driver Matias Zagazeta underwent an unexpected appendicitis operation.

James Hedley, who started racing in Cadet karting when he was just 11 years old, then moved to the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2018. In 2019 he won the Ginetta Junior Championship. James made his debut in single seater racing in 2020, competing in the British F4 Championship. Here James once again demonstrated his talent. He won four races and claimed 5th overall in his debut year. He repeated this result in 2021, and moved to the GB3 Championship as a BRDC Rising Star in 2022. After finishing 17th overall he continued in GB3 in 2023, reaching 6th overall, with two race wins and multiple podiums. In the current season he continues to compete in GB3 and took 7th and 8th place at the last races at Silverstone.

James states: „I got a phone call yesterday at 4 pm and it’s happening. I am racing FIA F3 at Monaco. It’s a dream come true. I have to thank Gary Catt and Jenzer team for putting their faith in me and my loyal sponsors Hendy and Clive Emson and Pirelli. There’s no time for sim preparation but i will focus on the drive and give it everything. Thank you to everyone helping me get to Monaco.“

Andreas Jenzer states: „After loosing Matias with an appendictis operation time was running out. We have previously been in contact with James regarding FIA F3. It's a jump into the deep end, but also a great opportunity for him. James has a great single seater experience in British GB3. We look forward to build up lap by lap!“

We send our best wishes to Matias for a quick recovery.
