BARCELONA TESTS DER GP3

The GP3 Series teams met up on 12^th and 13^th March 2012 for two test days at the circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona. This time 26 drivers were in attendance with Jenzer Motorsport fielding Robert Visoiu (ROM), Patric Niederhauser (CH) and Maxim Zimin (RUS). The sun was out and the temperature was well over 20°C by the afternoon.

We were very pleased to find our drivers in the top ten throughout the session, despite the more experienced drivers taking the very top places. On the first day Patric was 9^th in the morning session, Max 10^th and Robert 14^th. In the afternoon Patric improved to go 8^th, Robert stayed 14^th and Max was 18^th. The lap times were very close, with 15 drivers within a single second of the best time.

On the morning of the second day it was Robert who made the greatest improvement, moving up to 7^th. Patric, on the other hand, remained consistent with 8^th place. Maxim achieved 14^th in the morning, but in the afternoon, having not been in a racing car since December last year, it was he who set the 2^nd best time of the session, proving that nobody should discount him either. The team was going well as Robert proved, with an 5^th, while Patric, who opted not to use all new tyres, ended up 11^th.

The next official GP3 Series test days will be on 11^th/12^th April 2012 at Silverstone (GB), while the very first race of the new season will take place as part of the F1 Grand Prix Program of 12^th/13^th May 2012 at Barcelona (E).
