Ischer with points at the wet and cold RedBull Ring

The second of three race events for the Euro4 Championship took place on the interesting F1 race track of the Red Bull Ring (A). 29 drivers were registered. A cold weather snap with temperatures well below 10° C and alternating wet/dry conditions made the event a big challenge for all.

Race One (30 minutes + 1 lap)

Saturday, 14/09/24, 12.15, Weather: Overcast, 8°C

As the cars drove to the starting grid, it started to drizzle slightly. The track was still dry, however, and everyone stayed on slick tires for the start. The race then started well. Enea soon improved to 17th, then 16th. Ethan had started from 25th place and also immediately made up places. Ethan was already up in 19th place. A few laps later, the rain began to fall more heavily in the upper part of the track, and this area became slippery. There were several drivers who went off track and slid through grass or gravel. Ethan got together with Stack, and Ethan also went off track. Ethan fell far behind as a result, had to take a detour off track and slowly made his way back to the pits to have the car checked. There was an accident and the safety car took over the field. At the restart there were only a few minutes left until the end of the race. Ethan decided not to continue and to save the new set of rain tires for Sunday's races. Enea had held on to 16th place for long laps. After the safety car phase, he moved up to 14th place and moved up another place on the last lap. Enea, who had started from 21st place, brought home a good 13th place.

Race Two (30 minutes + 1 lap)

Sunday, 15/098/24, 10.10, Weather: Rain, 7°C

It had been raining non-stop since Saturday afternoon. The second race started behind the safety car because the track was completely soaked and there was huge spray. The safety car led the field for three laps, then the race was restarted. Enea was in 12th place and was trying to find a way forward. After a short safety car phase, Enea went wide after the restart and slid through the gravel. He managed to get back on track but had lost several places. Enea wanted to regain the positions, but a few laps later he made another excursion off track. Finally, Enea saw the checkered flag in 19th place. In the difficult conditions, many drivers suffered the same fate as Enea, but fortunately there was no major accident. Ethan got off to a very good start and immediately made up places. Starting from 16th place, he was already in 11th place after the safety car phase. Ethan managed to move up to 9th place, but the positions were still changing constantly. At the end of the race, Ethan proudly took home the last available point in 10th place. He had done very well in the exceptional conditions.

Race Three (30 minutes + 1 lap)

Sunday, 15/09/24, 16.05, Weather: Cloudy, 12°C

In the afternoon, the sun even came out from between the clouds and the track dried out. The field got off to a good start, but soon there was an accident and the safety car had to take over the field. Enea had already moved up from 13th place to 9th place, but he collided with another vehicle and damaged his front wing. Enea got a new part in the pit lane and managed to catch up with the field again thanks to the safety car situation. He then began a fiery recovery and managed to move back up to 14th place by the end of the race. Ethan also started very well and immediately made up several places. He had already reached 12th place, but then got involved in long battles and dropped back to 16th place. Ethan fought his way back up to 12th place by the end. A fast-paced race thus ended well.
